MRS. BLEVINS

Sylvia Ellen Blevins (nee Jones), 74, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Blevins, who died in 2013.

 

She was born in Wellsburg, Kentucky on March 30, 1947 to her parents, the late Harry Bryant and Ruth Ann (nee Cottey) Jones. Sylvia was a homemaker and member of the Dover Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include her sons, William Frank Blevins (Ronda), Mark Anthony Blevins (Rebecca), and Randy Dale Blevins (Holli); her brother, Glenn Hobart Jones; two sisters, Martha Ann Harmon and Delores “Deannie” Mitchell; her grandchildren, Jessica Blevins, Beth Cornette, Jimmy Burdette, Frankie Burdette, Ashley Hensley, Chelsea Norton, Calissa Norton, Tommy Blevins, and Tori Thompson. She also leaves behind 17 great-grandchildren with two additional on the way.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Francis Mae Blevins, Mary Charolette Kiskaden, and her twin, Sandra Elaine Blevins; and her brother, Clifford Ellis Jones.

 

The funeral for Sylvia will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home in Augusta, with Rev. Kevin Cornette presiding.

 

Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Mason County, Kentucky.

 

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, also on Saturday at the funeral home.

 

The family requests that those planning to attend the services would consider wearing a mask or facial covering.

 

Memorials, if desired, are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
