MR. HAY

Stanley Paul “Sonny” Hay, 87, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

 

He was born on December 10, 1934 to the late Robert E. and Pauline (nee Goecke) Hay, Sr. A member of St. James Catholic Church, he was a retired and dedicated employee of 40 years from General Electric in Evendale, Ohio.

 

He leaves behind his wife, Beverly (nee Moorhead) Hay, to whom he had been married for 70 years. He is also survived by his eight children, Jerry Hay (Terri), David Hay, Gary Hay (Sharon), Paula Hay Insko, Carla Hay Hampton Padgett (Dennis Dice), Sara Hay Fryman (Jamie Bell), Brian Hay (Ann Honan), and Brent Hay (Rhonda); seven grandchildren, Angie Dawson (Chris), Shawn Hay (Jennifer), Stephanie Jefferson (Joseph), Megan Hay, Nicholas Hay, Hayley Hay (Cameron Clark), and Leah Padgett; four great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Woods (Cameron DeArmond), Kade, Jaxon, and Thea Jefferson; and one great-great-granddaughter, Oaklynn DeArmond.

 

Sonny was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann (Corby) Cooke, his brother, Robert E. (Vonnie) Hay, Jr.; his brother- and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Joyce Moorhead; two granddaughters, Shannon Lynn Hay and Erin Makensie Hay Youngman (Ashley); and his son-in-law, Gary Hampton.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the St. James Catholic Church by Rev. Joseph Shelton and Rev. Andrew Young.

 

Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery in Maysville, Kentucky.

 

Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at St. James Church in Brooksville.

 

Memorials are suggested to the St. Patrick Cemetery Fund, 110 E. Third St., Maysville, Kentucky 41056, or in the form of Masses in care of St. James Church, 122 Garrett Ave., Brooksville, Kentucky 41004.
