MR. NICKERSON

Robert K. “Robbie” Nickerson, 63, of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Fort Thomas. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Dorothy (née Teegarden) Nickerson.

 

Robbie was born on June 3, 1962, in Augusta, to his parents, the late Raymond L and Rosa M. (née Ware) Nickerson. He previously worked in the construction field. Prior to retirement, he worked for the Superior Windings Company in Maysville, Kentucky. He was a member of the Augusta Baptist Church in Augusta. He also had membership in the Eagles Lodge in Maysville, the Moose Lodge in Maysville, and ASSEAOPA in Alexandria, Kentucky.

 

Surviving him in addition to his wife are his son, John A. Nickerson (Erica Blevins) and his daughter, Amanda Shields (Kelly); five grandchildren, Makayla Nickerson, Mason Nickerson, Mandelana Nickerson, Anastasia Nickerson, and Noah Shields. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Bonita Nickerson; brother-in-law, Troy Abercrombie; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Nickerson and Billy Nickerson; and his sister, Rosie Lee Abercrombie.

 

The funeral for Robbie will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home in Augusta.

 

Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

 

Memorials are suggested in the form of contributions to help offset Robbie’s final expenses, in care of Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 145, Augusta, Kentucky 41002.
