MRS. HIGH

Nancy Kay High (nee Claypool), 73, of Augusta, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, Kentucky. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 52 years, Wendell High.

 

Nancy was born in Augusta on January 2, 1949 to her parents, the late John Tom and Gladys (nee Hargett) Claypool. She retired from the Clopay Corporation after working for 42 years as a purchasing agent and being a member of the Pioneer Club. Nancy was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of St. Augustine Church.

 

In addition to her husband, Nancy leaves behind her beloved son, Danny High (Crystal); her brother, Mike Claypool; and her sister, Joyce Hoffman. Survivors also include two grandchildren, Mason High and Paxton High; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ike Claypool and Pat Claypool; and two sisters, Linda Poe and Anita Richey.

 

The funeral for Nancy will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home in Augusta, Kentucky with Rev. Britton Hennessey presiding.

 

Interment will follow in the Sharon Cemetery in Bracken County, Kentucky.

 

Visitation will also be on Thursday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

 

Memorials, if desired, may be given to the Augusta Volunteer Fire Department, 215 Main Street, Augusta, Kentucky 41002.
