MR. MONEYHON
Michael Carl Moneyhon, 59, of Georgetown, Kentucky, left this world on January 24, 2026, at the Georgetown Community Hospital in Georgetown, Kentucky, after a short illness.
He was born on January 20, 1967, at the St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas, Kentucky to his parents, Carl Bruist and Louise (née Hirschfeld) Moneyhon of Augusta, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sons, Dylan James Moneyhon (Tiffani) of Flemingsburg, Casey Richardson (Mollie Cate), and Logan Hyman (Serenity), both of Georgetown; and his daughters, Sarah Shepherd (Dustin) and Autumn Humphrey (Adam), both of Georgetown. He also leaves behind several grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.
While growing up, Michael helped on the family farm doing various chores. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1985 and was a member of the Panther basketball team and the band. He was also a member of the Bracken County 4-H organization where he had projects in tobacco, beef cattle, and showing Jersey dairy cattle.
After graduation, he attended Maysville Community College and graduated in 1988 with an associate’s degree in communications. He then went to work for Radio Shack of Maysville, Kentucky. From there, he became employed by Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Georgetown, where he worked for 35 years in the Maintenance Support Division. Michael was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed NASCAR racing. He was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers, the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds, University of Kentucky football and basketball, Jimmy Buffett music, and grilling food using new and unusual recipes.
While growing up in Augusta, he was a member of the Augusta Baptist Church. After moving to Georgetown, he joined the Immanuel Baptist Church as a member.
Michael was a fun-loving practical joker and prankster who never met a stranger. He was always thinking of and caring for others. He will be missed by many who loved him, especially his grandchildren who called him “Pooh Bear”.
He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Chris; his paternal grandparents, Carl N. and Helen B. Moneyhon of Augusta, and his maternal grandparents, Hans and Clara Hirschfeld of Maysville, Kentucky.
The funeral for Michael will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home in Augusta, with Rev. David Robirds officiating.
Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery.
Visitation will also be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Serving as pall bearers will be Dustin Shepherd, Kenny Shepherd, Leyton Shepherd, Carl Moneyhon, Dylan Moneyhon, Adam Humphrey, Gary Bentley, and Terry Rose.
