MRS. BEST

Lorena B. Best (nee Jackson), 85, of Augusta, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Best.

 

She was born in Sherburne, Kentucky on July 1, 1937 to her parents, the late Thomas G. and Minnie B. (nee Smith) Jackson. A homemaker, she was previously involved with the Augusta Sew-n-sews and the Red Hat Society.

 

She is survived by her son, Gary L. Fryman; her brother, Carroll Jackson; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Lorena was preceded in death by three sons, Larry J. Fryman, Danny R. Fryman, and Shirley A. Fryman, Jr.; three brothers, Charles Ray Jackson, Thomas Jackson, Jr., and Robert E. Jackson; five sisters, Virginia Saunders, Maxine Quinlin, Christine Flynn, Lavonna Ormes, and Naomi Fryman; and two grandchildren, Monica Fryman and Danny Fryman, Jr.

 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home in Augusta.

 

Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bracken County, Kentucky.

 

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM also on Thursday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
