MR. ERNEST

Larry Dale Ernest, 79, of Augusta, Kentucky passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

 

He was born in Bracken County on August 1, 1946 to his parents, the late Alfred and Frances (née Perkins) Ernest. A veteran of the United States Army, Larry served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a 1964 graduate of Bracken County High School. After serving his country, he worked for the Clopay Corporation as a scheduler and truck driver. A member of the Pioneer Club for Clopay, he was also a life member of the Mains-Quinlin VFW Post 9535 in Augusta and a member of the Johnsville Methodist Church.

 

He leaves behind his wife, Rhonda (née Poe) Ernest; sons, Joseph Ernest, Billy King (Denise), Bryon King (Tina), and Brandon King; his daughter, Brandee King; his sister, Debbie Bishop (Gary); four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Woods; and his brother-in-law, Billy Woods.

 

The funeral for Larry will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home in Augusta, with Bro. Philip McMurrin presiding.

 

Visitation will also be on Monday at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM.
