MRS. MEFFORD

Judith L. Mefford, 80, of Augusta, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva Mefford, who died on December 6, 2005.

 

Judy was born in Bracken County on March 8, 1942 to her parents, the late Woodrow W. and Mary Elizabeth “Sis” England. She was a devoted homemaker and lifelong member of the Augusta Presbyterian Church.

 

She leaves behind her sons, David Mefford and Tony Mefford (Rhonda), and her daughter, Mary Shively (Billy Toleman); two brothers, John England (Mary Belle) and Ronnie England; and her granddaughter, April Dawley (Reed). Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Paul Mefford; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Delbert England; her sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Marvin Bach; her son-in-law, James Shively; her mother-in-law, Hazel Mefford; and her sisters-in-law, Jewel Mefford, Wanda England, and Carol England.

 

The funeral service for Judy will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the Augusta Presbyterian Church with Bro. Rick Jones presiding.

 

Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bracken County, Kentucky.

 

Visitation will also be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday at the church.
