Jeffrey Mersman

JEFF MERSMAN

Jeffrey S. Mersman passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024. Born on November 26, 1948, Jeff was a graduate of Moeller High School and the University of Cincinnati, where he received his MBA.

 

“Murray”, was a bartender and a well-known character in the bar and restaurant scene in the Greater Cincinnati area, was famous for his sense of humor, quick wit, and storytelling. He loved golfing and was a master of trivia. Jeff also worked as a pari-mutuel clerk at River Downs for several years and he truly loved the races!

 

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret F. Mersman and Edward W. Mersman(n), Jr.; his wife, Billie Sue (neé Phillips) Mersman; and his brothers, Mark and David Mersman.

 

His family—Margi (Tim) Hughey, Chris (Karen) Mersman, Ginny (Mark) Mersman, his nieces and nephews, JR Hughey, Liz Hughey, Maggie Hughey, Michael Mersman, Katie (Tony) Mersman Everhart, Christopher (Emily) Mersman,  Michelle Mersman, Matt (Megan) Mersman, his seven great-nieces and nephews, and his many, many friends— will miss him dearly.

 

The family would like to express their thanks to Joy and Kayleigh and the caring staff at Perkins Country Manor in Augusta, KY for the special care given to Jeff during his time there. As well, the family is grateful to Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home for the afterlife care and thoughtfulness.

 

A gathering of family and friends to share stories and celebrate Jeff’s life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Plum Street Bar and Café, 423 Plum St., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202.
