Obituaries

MR.MOORE

James T. Moore, 81, of Augusta, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda (neé Tucker) Moore, who died on September 30, 2019.

 

James was born in Augusta on April 20, 1943 to his parents, the late Albert and Stella (neé High) Moore.

 

A veteran of the United States Army, he served his country in the Vietnam War and in the Reserves thereafter. Throughout his life, he held several occupations. He retired as a Safety Manager from the Clopay Corporation after 34 years of service. He served for several years as Bracken County’s Animal Control Officer and was also a licensed firearms instructor. He was a member of the NRA, a lifetime member of the Augusta VFW Post 9535, and was also a member of the New Hope Christian Church.

 

He leaves behind his sons, James A. Moore (Lucy), Paul T. Moore (Ellen), and David B. Moore (Frances); his brother, David Moore; his sisters, Evelyn M. Martin, Joyce M. Schweitzer, and Linda Sweeney. Survivors also include his grandchildren, Ethan Moore, Carley Moore, Catherine Moore, Austin Moore, Stephanie Moore, and Jace Moore; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Darrell Moore.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Moore, Bobby Moore, and Gary Moore.

 

Graveside rites will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Bracken County by Bro. Rick Jones. Military rites will follow and will be provided by the Augusta VFW Post 9535.

 

There will be no visitation.
