MR. NICKOSON

Eldon “Peewee” Nickoson, 84, of Augusta, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda H. Nickoson, who died on March 7, 2018.

 

Peewee was born in Bracken County on September 19, 1941, to his parents, the late Obie and Anna (née Smith) Nickoson. Prior to retirement, he served as a school bus driver for the Augusta Independent School District, having driven countless students many miles during his tenure. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

 

He leaves behind three sons, Obie Nickoson, Cord Nickoson (Lyndsey), and Johnny Carver; seven grandchildren, Garrett Nickoson, Colbie Nickoson, Trevor Collins, Cameron Nickoson, Nicole Nickoson, Landon Story, and Jason Reid; five great-grandchildren, Weston Nickoson, Waylon Nickoson, Tyler Carver, Jake Carver, and Sarah Carver; as well as his brother- and sisters-in law and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Delmar Nickoson and his sister, Edna Woodward.

 

The funeral for Peewee will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Jones officiating.

 

Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery in Bladeston, Kentucky.

 

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Monday at the funeral home.
