MR. GOECKE
Edward Allen Goecke, 79, of Augusta, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Mercy Health – The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born September 18, 1944 to his parents, the late Jacob W. and Ethel (neé Hause) Goecke. Prior to retirement, he worked as a custodian for St. Augustine Church where he was also a member.
He leaves behind several nephews, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his sister-in-law, Judy Goecke.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Jacob W. Goecke, II.; his sisters, Betty McClanahan and Evelyn M. Sharp; and his brothers-in-law, Delmar Sharp and Tom McClanahan.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at St. Augustine Church in Augusta by Rev. Joseph Shelton.
Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery.
Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home in Augusta.
Memorials are suggested in the form of Masses in care of St. Augustine Church.
