MR. RUDD

Lawrence Paul “Bugs” Rudd, 73, of Brooksville, Kentucky, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. He was born in Covington, Kentucky on August 9, 1951 to his parents, the late Kevil E. and Betty (née Cooke) Rudd.

 

Bugs was retired from the United States Postal Service. He impacted many lives during his 45 years with the recovery community, and his love for music led to his forming several bands with many different members. He was a member of St. James Church in Brooksville.

 

He leaves behind his beloved, Kaye Thompson; his sons, Christopher Rudd (Lesli) and Matthew Rudd (Kayla Harney); his stepson, Jamie Archibald; two brothers, Edward J. Rudd and Daniel T. Rudd; and five sisters, Mary Lou Hickey (Chuck), Elizabeth “Babe” Brown (Bobby), Kathy Reed (David), Patty Rudd, and Becky Combess (Tommy). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Carter, Thomas, Kyler, Makenzie, Brooklyn, and Oakley; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, Michael; his grandson, Tyler Archibald; his niece, Katie Hickey; and his nephew, Michael Rudd.

 

A Funeral Mass will be offered at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. James Church in Brooksville by Rev. Joseph Shelton.

 

Interment will follow in the St. James Cemetery.

 

Visitation will also be on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 AM to Noon.
