MR. KERN

Robert “Bob” Steven Kern, 75, of Brooksville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 at his residence. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Hester (née White) Kern.

 

Bob was born on January 29, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio to his parents, the late Edward and Anna (née Bonfield) Kern. Prior to retirement he was self-employed as a master plumber and electrician. He was a member of St. James Church in Brooksville and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.

 

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his four daughters, Elaine Kern-Baxter (Mike), Melissa Takata (Kyle), Sherry Serrano (Jeffrey), and Anna Hall (John); his grandchildren, Dallas Hall, Lillian Hall, Morgan Miller, Jazlynn Miller, Jeffery Serrano Jr., Sanae Takata, Tyler Takata, Ren Takata, and Reiko Takata; his sisters, Julia Ann Orth and Mary Claypool; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his brothers, E.B. Kern, Pat Kern, and Joe Kern.

 

A Funeral Mass will be offered at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at St. James Church in Brooksville.

 

Interment will follow in the St. James Cemetery in Brooksville, Kentucky.

 

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, also on Tuesday at the church.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. James Church, 122 Garrett Avenue, Brooksville, Kentucky 41004, or Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, Kentucky 41056.
