ALICE WELTE

Alice E. Welte, 87, of Augusta, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Hospice of Hope Care Center at Kenton Pointe. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 66 years, Thomas Welte.

 

Alice was born in Bracken County on October 8, 1938, to her parents, the late Cleveland and Violet (née Sapp) Jones. She was a homemaker and farm wife who loved to bake and sew. She was an avid fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats and Elvis’ #1 fan. A kind and caring soul, she loved to help others with anything they needed.

 

In addition to her husband, she leaves behind her special nephew, Anthony Welte (Donna), a special niece, April Forman (Creig); three great-nieces, Ashley Welte, Hannah Welte, and Annalise Forman; her great-great-niece, Willow Forman; and many more nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Grover Jones and Bill Jones; and her sisters, Lucille Lakes, Ruth Smoot, and Anna Welte.

 

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Sharon Cemetery in Bracken County.

 

Per her wishes, there will be no visitation.
