James Wallace Wardlow, 78, of Brooksville, died Thursday, September 26, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Marjorie Jane Nickerson.
Jim, as he was known to many, was born April 18, 1941 in Crab Orchard, Kentucky to his parents, the late Lloyd Wardlow and Beulah Shelton. He was a retired steel worker and farmer as well as a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Newport Masonic Temple, a 32nd Degree Shriner, and a past president of the local area steel workers union.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind five sons, James W. Wardlow, Jr., Larkin D. Wardlow, Robert W. Wardlow, Raymond D. Woods, and Richard W. Woods; and two daughters, Julie A. Cole and Kelly Hensley. Survivors also include eleven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at the Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home in Augusta, Kentucky with Brother Bruce Heller officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Brooksville, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, also on Thursday at the funeral home.
