Judith Ann Monson, 70 of Newport died early Sunday at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. She was a native of Bracken County born May15, 1943, a daughter of the late Vannie Elmo and Hazel Clark Monson.
She was a graduate of Newport High School and a retired legal secretary of 40 years with Western and Southern Life Insurance Company, Cincinnati. She was a past honored Queen of Job's Daughters International, a past Worthy Matron fifty year member of Gertrude Chapter # 19 O.E.S., Deputy Grand Matron of District 3, Ambassador to the Eastern Star Home Louisville, Chairman of ESTARL O.E.S., Grand Representative to O.E.S. Quebec Canada, past High Priestess of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Covington, member of Ideal Court Cincinnati and Queen Esther Court, Latonia, Order of the Amaranth and organist for numerous O.E.S. Chapters in Northern Kentucky. Judy was also a Kentucky Colonel and lifelong member of Brooksville Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother, Donald Monson of Brooksville, Kentucky and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are two sisters, Christine White and Irene Martin, and three brothers Vannie, Jr., Ralph, and Keevil Monson.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home in Augusta.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 6, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. with Eastern Star Service at 7:00 P.M.
Burial will be in Bracken Memorial Cemetery.
